Over 1,880 of the chargers will be installed across Greater Vancouver. The Government of British Columbia, through its CleanBC Go Electric Program, also provided CA$2.2m toward Level 3 public chargers to be installed in the province.

This funding was provided to 26 projects, led by organisations such as municipalities, multi-residential buildings, businesses and utilities.

Since 2016, the Government of Canada has invested a historic CA$1bn to make EVs more affordable and chargers more accessible for Canadians and has approved funding to support the installation of more than 34,500 EV chargers to date.

Wilkinson commented on the new investments: "We're making electric vehicles more affordable and charging more accessible where Canadians live, work and play."
