With over 1.2m EVs now on UK roads and more drivers making the transition than ever, the new ‘Pod Point Plug & Power’ bundle offers drivers the ability to purchase a Pod Point Solo 3S charger for an initial payment of £499, compared to £1,099.
Making the bundle the first-of-its-kind, the remaining cost for the charger is spread over two years and integrated into the tariff, giving drivers a more cost-effective way to get a convenient and reliable home charger and run their EV.
The tariff, priced at £2,139 a year for the average EV driver using dual fuel at home, gives customers cheap overnight rates, with five hours of off-peak electricity between 12 – 5am to power both their home and car, priced at 8.49p per kWh.
For an average motorist, charging with the Pod Point Plug & Power will save drivers £538 a year compared to petrol. And compared with using the public charging network, EV drivers charging with the tariff would save £460.
Customers can sign up via EDF’s website, and once signed up, EDF will pass details onto Pod Point to buy the Solo 3S EV charger from £499. The Solo 3S comes with a five-year warranty and standard installation is included. The Pod Point app also allows users to manage their home charging conveniently from their phone.
