This pioneering initiative aims to reduce the carbon footprint of heavy goods transport, which accounts for 27% of transport-related CO2 emissions despite representing only 1.3% of vehicles on French roads.

Each station will feature two ultra-fast 400-500 kW charging points, allowing simultaneous charging of two vehicles. A backup charging point at each location will ensure reliable service for transport operators. The stations will be strategically placed approximately 150 kilometres apart at Melun, Auxerre and Beaune.

This infrastructure is designed to accommodate electric lorries with an average range of 300 kilometres, enabling them to complete the entire Paris-Lyon journey in both directions. The network will particularly benefit transport companies operating regular routes, helping them transition to all-electric fleets.

The charging stations are currently starting operations. Through this project, Engie Solutions and APRR demonstrate their commitment to reducing road transport emissions whilst ensuring high-quality service for hauliers, marking a significant step towards more sustainable mobility in France.
