This initiative, in collaboration with Kempower, will significantly enhance the EV charging infrastructure across Finland.

The Kempower charging solutions, integrated into the K-Lataus network, will deliver up to 400 kW charging power, tailored to various vehicles, and support an 800-volt charging voltage. This year, K-Lataus plans a substantial expansion, adding over a hundred DC fast-charging points across the country. These points will be strategically located at Kesko's commercial sites and along major roads.

The expansion involves increasing capacity at four existing charging hubs in Heinola, the Tampere region, Vantaa's Tammisto, and Turku's Länsikeskus, adding 18 new DC charging points to each. Additionally, entirely new charging sites will be established at K-Citymarket Ylöjärvi and Hämeenlinna, ensuring convenient access for EV drivers.

"We aim to provide reliable charging for EV drivers visiting Citymarkets," says Iiro Määttänen from K-Auto, overseeing the K-Lataus network. Each new charging hub will offer a minimum power of 1600 kW, ensuring fast charging even during peak times, reducing waiting times for drivers.

K-Lataus plans to complete the expansion by summer and autumn 2024, a significant advancement for Finland's charging market, according to Määttänen. The collaboration with Kempower underscores their commitment to offering high-power charging in key locations.

Kempower's technology promises exceptional performance, reliability, and dynamic power distribution, improving the overall charging experience.

Currently, K-Lataus boasts around 300 charging hubs and over 1,500 charging points nationwide, serving approximately 175,000 registered private and corporate customers. Notably, all electricity dispensed at K-Lataus stations is sourced from renewable domestic wind power.
