Following an €80m funding round in January 2024, Monta aims to replicate its European success in the US market. By the end of 2025, the Miami office will house 30 employees and aims to connect 25,000 commercial charge points to its platform, with a long-term goal of reaching one million by 2030.

Miami is a strategic choice for the company’s US office, offering access to talent, ecosystem, and international opportunities in a city that is rapidly becoming a tech powerhouse.

In the UK, Monta partners with firms like Rolec and SyncEV to manage fleets, home, and workplace charging, providing access to over 600,000 roaming charge points. As US EV adoption rises, nearly half of new car sales could be electric by 2030, driven by infrastructure goals of half a million public chargers within five years. However, challenges remain, with one-quarter of all charges unsuccessful and many others plagued by software and payment issues. Monta’s platform aims to streamline these processes and support EV adoption across the US.

“Across Europe, charging operators have been using Monta to scale up and deliver an improved experience for EV drivers for the last four years,” said Casper Rasmussen, CEO and co-founder of Monta. “Our customers and partners, many of whom already operate in the US or have plans to expand there, have been asking us to bring Monta’s solution across the Atlantic to continue fuelling growth across the EV charging infrastructure ecosystem.”
