Following Enel X's announcement last month about closing its US and Canadian charging business, residential JuiceBox chargers will continue to function, but software and app support has ended. For commercial customers, around 25,000 chargers may soon stop processing payments and managing charging sessions.
JuiceBox users can return their chargers to Qmerit for a credit towards expert replacement services, with residential customers receiving up to US$100 per job and commercial customers up to US$250. The credit will be applied to permitting fees, and the offer is valid until 31 December 2024.
To access the credit, JuiceBox owners can contact Qmerit, whose customer success team will determine whether a replacement charger or a new SIM card is needed. If a new charger is required, Qmerit will recommend the best option based on its extensive EV charging installation experience. A Qmerit-certified electrician, part of North America's largest EV charger installation network, will handle the installation, ensuring safety and compliance with all permitting and inspection requirements.
