The company manages one of Europe's largest high-performance charging networks, with over 35,000 charging points at more than 12,500 locations.

Through the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP), Allego's charging stations are connected to their central management system, enabling immediate fault detection. Advanced sensors in the charging stations allow for predictive maintenance and proactive problem-solving.

The partnership with KPN IoT provides Allego with comprehensive network coverage across all its operating countries. This connectivity is crucial for monitoring, authorising charging sessions, and processing invoices in real-time. All charging stations are managed centrally through the KPN IoT control centre, which ensures secure connections essential for operations.

KPN IoT serves as both a connectivity provider and knowledge partner, offering technical support and modem specification advice. The partnership is now exploring the implementation of e-SIM technology to streamline the installation process. This digital alternative to physical SIM cards would allow for remote configuration of connectivity profiles, significantly reducing deployment time.

This collaboration has proven vital for Allego's European expansion, ensuring consistent connectivity across their charging network.
