Electrify America expands EV charging network to 4,800 public chargers 2024

Charging network Electrify America says it grew to more than 4,800 public DC fast chargers in North America in 2024, with customer sessions increasing by 50%.

In 2024, Electrify America says it focused on a holistic approach to enhance the customer experience by growing the network and increasing the number of 350 kW capable chargers. Larger stations were opened in convenient locations, including the company’s first indoor flagship station in San Francisco, CA, which offers 20 Hyper-Fast chargers, restrooms, lounge areas, and other amenities. Electrify America also implemented new policies to help reduce wait times, such as idle fees, for a seamless experience.

As a result of these efforts, the network says experienced a growth in consumer demand of more than 50%, or over 16 million charging sessions, and delivered over 600 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of energy, an increase of 65% from the previous year.

Electrify America says it expects the demand for high-speed charging to continue growing in 2025. Its adds that its focus will remain on expanding the network by 30% this year and implementing solutions that meet the changing needs of EV drivers.

As of 2024, the company's network comprised over 1,000 charging stations in North America, covering 47 states plus the District of Columbia and seven provinces.
