The partnership aims to advance EV charging in Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, regions slower to adopt EVs compared to the rest of Europe. Slovenia and Croatia have 1,500 and 900 public charge points, respectively, while the other five countries together only have 300. This collaboration seeks to boost infrastructure and EV market share, which ranges between 1-4% compared to the EU's average of 13.9%.
A major project under this partnership includes a 1,200kW charging station in Croatia’s Kvarner region, equipped with eight Kempower Charging Satellites and two Liquid Cooled Charging Satellites for faster charging of heavy commercial vehicles. The station will support both private and commercial motorists as demand for EV infrastructure grows.
Kempower’s modular charging solutions allow operators to start small and expand as demand increases, making it a flexible and scalable option for new businesses.
Igor Ban of Kempower and Nina Dusper of Končar stressed the importance of quality, reliability, and the potential of their partnership to drive sustainable mobility in the region as the demand for EVs rises.
