The collaboration, aimed at enhancing EV charging solutions for businesses across Ireland, will integrate Plugable’s EV business suite with Myenergi’s OCPP-compliant Zappi chargers, providing a robust and comprehensive infrastructure for business owners, both big and small.

Ireland has recently been identified as one of the most expensive places to run an EV in Europe, with research by Switcher.ie revealing that the cost of charging an EV in Ireland has increased by 15% in the past year and 34% since 2021. A full charge now costs an average of €22.25, almost double the European average of €12.63. This partnership aims to address these cost challenges by providing businesses with efficient and cost-effective charging solutions.

The key benefits of Myenergi’s OCPP firmware include dynamic load balancing capabilities, wallet-friendly grid consumption management, and advanced scheduling functionality with remote access. These features ensure seamless integration of EV charging infrastructure with business operations, resulting in significant cost savings and increased efficiency.

Additionally, Zappi home EV customers will benefit from this partnership by receiving a welcome credit to become Plugable hosts, maximising the utilisation of their home chargers and contributing to a larger network of accessible charging points.

A recent Plugable survey revealed that 65% of EV drivers are more likely to frequent or spend more at businesses with charging options. This partnership aims to meet this growing demand across various sectors, including hospitality, real estate, and destination parking.

"This partnership with Plugable enables businesses to leverage EV infrastructure to create new revenue streams and make their venues attractive to EV drivers,” said Noel Hynes, country head of Myenergi Ireland. “For domestic EV owners, it unlocks the value of their home chargers by allowing them to become hosts on Plugable."
