Breaking down global EV market demand and revenue

While electric cars will remain the largest electric vehicle market for the foreseeable future in terms of battery demand and market revenue generation, most transport sectors are facing a transition. In this article, IDTechEx summarises key developments in non-automotive sectors, showing each sector's global battery demand (in 2021) for relative scale. For reference, battery-electric and plug-in hybrid cars demanded approximately 280GWh globally in 2021.

Open APIs for managed EV charging

SSE Energy Solutions starts plans for UK-wide EV charging network

SSE Energy Solutions says it has begun plans for a major electric vehicle (EV) charging network across the UK by announcing a significant new partnership with global commercial real estate investor, asset manager and business builder, Oxford Properties (Oxford) and its pan-European portfolio company M7 Real Estate (M7).
